Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating laser cutting machines to produce high-quality components while ensuring adherence to safety standards and production schedules. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes and the ability to read blueprints accurately.
Duties
- Operate laser cutting machines for precision fabrication of sheet metal components.
- Unloading completed parts and removing excess material.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine specifications.
- Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to ensure product accuracy.
- Perform routine maintenance on laser equipment and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
- Measure parts using tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize tooling and programming for efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Experience
- Proven experience in operating laser cutting machines or similar equipment is preferred.
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Proficient in blueprint reading and basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
- Experience with setup and programming will be considered an asset.
- A background in GD&T principles is advantageous.
